Phase I Approval Received for Whispering Pines, New York

November 8, 2017

Natural Systems Utilities (NSU) has received approval for Phase I of the Whispering Pines Wastewater Treatment Facility Expansion in New York.  This nearly doubles the capacity of the facility to 300,000 gallons per day (GPD).  Designed by NSU, the advanced treatment process is membrane bioreactor based, and produces near drinking water quality effluent that is recharged to the local subsurface aquifer.  This approval was secured within 10 months of breaking ground, much faster than anticipated.  Quick production speed was possible through our unique in-house Design/Build process coupled with NSU’s strong relationships with both the Health Department and Department of Public Works.  Construction of Phase II is already underway (photo below).  This multi-million dollar project is located in Suffolk County, Long Island, where NSU has designed, built, and currently operates numerous facilities.”
