The Annual Governor’s Occupational Safety and Health Awards Program was created to foster achievement in the prevention of workplace injury and illness. From its early inception in 1927, the program has played an integral role in promoting safe and healthy workplaces throughout the state of New Jersey. The program is open to both public and private employers of all sizes, and is sponsored by the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development and the New Jersey State Industrial Safety Committee.
Both NSU’s NJ Engineering and Construction teams were honored with receiving the Commissioner’s Continued Excellence Award. This major award is presented to departments that have participated in the program for four or more consecutive years without lost time from a work-related injury or illness.
NSU’s NJ Operations team also received an Award of Merit. This certificate recognizes the company for working throughout the 2016 calendar year without lost time from a work-related injury or illness.
These awards were presented by Kris Hoffman- Area Director for the US Dept. of Labor OSHA and Catherine Fruge Starghill, Esq. – Deputy Commissioner for the NJ Dept. of Labor and Workforce Development.
Safety is of the utmost importance to NSU. Further, our staff is the most valuable company asset and we are focused on maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for them as well as for our clients.
