Natural Systems Utilities has been working for the Charles River Watershed Association (CRWA) for the past 6 years, supporting the development of the CRWA’s smart sewering strategy in suburban and urban settings. Urban smart sewering integrates sewer mining/water reclamation and reuse; thermal energy capture and reuse; anaerobic co-digestion; and green infrastructure, with the overarching objectives of offsetting infrastructure costs with revenues from resource recovery, and restoring the hydrology and ecology of urban waterways.
NSU’s Bruce Douglas and CRWA’s Julie Wood will co-present a 90-minute live webinar on urban smart sewering on June 20, 2017, titled: “Transforming Urban Water Management – a New Strategy Explored”. The webinar is part of the American Society of Civil Engineers’ (ASCE) professional development course offerings.
